After celebrating Kartini day, Indonesians and people around the world celebrated the earth day. Earth day is celebrated annually on April 22 with events worldwide in support of the environment and to raise awareness for the environmental protection and care of our planet.
The event brought together organizations that campaign environmental sustainability. It was same as previous years, the earth day was celebrated by many parties and student’s organizations and this event also to raise awareness for the environmental protection.
Physics Education Student Association and PIAUD Student association of State Islamic Institute (IAIN ) Palangka Raya and lecturers had done adoption and plant the trees at Jumpun Pambelum area.
There were 20 trees which had been adopted. Those are Dyera costulata trees and syzygium inophylla trees. It purposed to protect the environment and implant the peatland. The event was presented by Head of MIPA Education Department, Head of Physics Education study program, and Head of PIAUD study program.
